Electric Vehicle Fire (IVE)

The Electric Vehicle Fire (IVE) course enables participants to acquire the essential skills to deal with an outbreak of fire involving a lithium- ion battery, under realistic response conditions. Adapted to the specific conditions of the French Antilles, this course covers the impact of heat, humidity and the outdoor environment on battery behaviour and the development of a fire. It focuses on initial response, making the area safe and managing the risk before the emergency services arrive.

Course objectives

  • Identify an electric vehicle fire and its specific characteristics
  • Recognise the signs of thermal runaway
  • Assess the level of danger in a tropical environment
  • Set up an appropriate safety perimeter
  • Adopt the right initial response reflexes
  • Use first-response equipment safely
  • Adapt one's response to climatic conditions (heat, humidity)
  • Avoid critical errors
  • Raise the alarm effectively

Who it is for

Audience

Security officers (APS, SSIAP); HSE / prevention staff; Employees using company vehicles; Site / car park managers; Supervisors and safety managers

Teaching team

The teaching team of the Centre National de Formation et de Prévention (CNFP) is made up of expert trainers and specialists with solid field experience and a thorough command of the regulatory frameworks applicable to their areas of expertise.

CNFP's trainers are selected for their technical competence, their ability to pass on practical, operational knowledge and their understanding of the professional realities of the trainees they teach.

The teaching team is committed to the continuous improvement of practices, regulatory monitoring and the adaptation of content in order to ensure the quality, relevance and effectiveness of its training courses.

Monitoring and assessment

The performance indicators for this course are monitored as part of our quality approach and cover, in particular, participant satisfaction rate, the rate of skills acquisition assessed at the end of the course, and the recommendation rate.

These data are analysed regularly in order to continuously improve teaching quality and ensure the course meets professionals' needs. The results are available on request or once the first sessions have been consolidated.
